My story
Hello, I’m Krista Hehedysh — a Ukrainian contemporary artist now based in Paris.
I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and Design, and I was raised in a family of artists — creativity has always been my natural language. For me, making art was never a choice but a way of being.
Before the war forced me to leave Ukraine, I spent eight years running my own interior design studio and launched a small fashion brand along the way. Photography, too, was always a quiet passion that shaped how I see the world. Across mediums — spaces, clothes, images, or paint — creativity has remained my compass.
In Paris, my practice shifted. What once lived at the margins of my life — painting and portrait photography — became its center. I now create contemporary works through mixed techniques, weaving together fragments of memory, dream, and emotion.
Here you’ll find my latest paintings and photography prints. Returning to painting after years of silence has been like rediscovering my own voice: each canvas a snapshot of turbulence, longing, and transformation. My work is less about what I saw, and more about what I felt.
Welcome to take a look of how I feel the world.
